How Far Can I Go Visually!

This Monday that just passed I was able to do three sets of eight repetitions of chin-ups full range of motion with my other exercises for that training session and that was a very good feeling. This was the first training session that I’ve decided and felt very comfortable with more than five chin-ups straight with little to no issues. I still felt the elbow feeling but it is nowhere as painful as it was five months ago. I notice as I keep doing chin-ups and pull-ups with a full range of motion, it feels like the elbows are healing themselves up. It can still take a while but progression is needed. I have not done eight total chin-ups straight since 2017, so this is a huge milestone for me to get back to this point from the golfer’s elbow (elbow tendonitis) injury. It took me to be visual to get back to that point and I am happy I did.

So far I’ve been doing circuit training and it helped to push myself to become more conditioned with having fewer breaks and more work. I feel like I can get through training faster and it allows me to have a deliberate focus to push myself hard when the going gets tough. I’ve also jump roping more now which can contribute to my conditioning getting better. This week I’ve done thirty minutes worth of jump roping and it felt really good. Since the weather is changing for the fall, It definitely will help me out to properly warm up better for other kinds of training.

I notice that the more I practice meditation and just visualizing my goals, certain scenarios end up pushing towards the actions that are needed for me to accomplish the task at hand. For me, by the end of this year, I want to be physically better than I am currently and have better mobility and stability. My activation of scapular retraction while I am in a dead hang position on the bar definitely got better so I just have to continue to clean up the form so that when I am doing pull-ups it is smoother. Pike stand holds definitely improved too and I should be in a good position to start performing pike stand push-ups for repetitions.

Stay Strong, Stay Game!!
