Pull Up, then Muscle Up!

This month is pretty dope for me. The reason is that I not only got comfortable with my pull-ups and chin-ups but I was able to pull off my first muscle up last week Wednesday since 2017. I will say that the muscle-up will need a lot of cleaning up to do with the form, but this was a major accomplishment for me. As I’ve expressed in my previous blogs, I’ve suffered from golfer’s elbow (elbow tendonitis) since 2017, and to put myself back to the point of doing a muscle up again shows that anything is seriously possible with a lot of willpower to get to your goal. Even though I was very happy that I was able to allow my body to do more exercises, I am more determined to pursue advanced levels or training daily.

What I’ve noticed more now is that I am beginning to understand the knowledge I’ve been picking up from my continuous studies and apply it to my training so I can get better at my craft. If it had not been for me sticking to seeking the knowledge and not giving up, I would not have made it possible. The pull-ups and chin-ups feel way better and I am able to do a full range of motion and feel my back muscles activating too. At times I still get the weak feeling in my elbows but not as bad. I’ve been putting a lot of time into hanging leg raises so not only I can get my core stronger but I can also increase my mobility which I am loving so far. I was able to go past ninty degrees, but I will need to keep working on making my leg straight.

I’ve got back doing my finger to forearm training since strengthening those parts of my body can be a bang for my buck in the long run. I would do dead hangs for under and park overhand grip for four sets of a given time. Then wrist kneeling push-ups, which so far I’ve done four sets of ten to twelve repetitions. For fingertip push-ups, it is four sets of nine reps. My mobility sessions are also helping out tremendously for my training. I’ve got to the point that I’ve made it a habit to put the time in and thank God it is paying off at least.

As a bonus…… I went to Prospect Park and I rode one lap around the park with my road bike and my elbows were fine in which was a massive progress for me. My palms near my thumb were very sore, so I will need to talk with my sports massage therapist to massage the tightness and I will have to try to strengthen my thumb too. All good things and progress!!

Stay Strong, Stay Game!

Here is showing at least progress of me doing a muscle up which needs cleaning up with dips at the top which can be better. (For the video, please video my website to view it.)
